Florida is one of the most Southern of all the United States. It
is known as the Sunshine State for it's warm weather and pacific
climate. "Florida" is a Spanish adjective which means "flowery".
Florida was discovered by a Spanish explorer during Easter,
which in spanish is called Pascua Florida.
Major Cities and Towns in Florida are: Jacksonville, Miami,
Orlando, Tallahassee, and Tampa.
Because of Florida's climate it has become the

Batting cages are enclosed or partially enclosed pieces of
sporting equipment that act as a 'catcher,' in effect, for
batters practicing hitting baseballs or softballs. Batting cages
help to keep balls in a contained space so that the batter can
continue hitting without having to continually retrieve them.
Different types of batting cages can be located outdoors or in a
gym or activity center.
Batting cages are both in professional, school-sponsored, and
recreational baseball and softball. ...Read the rest of this entry »

My Baseball Story
I love this game. It has been half century since I started to
fall in love with baseball. The romance is still going strong.
Playing, coaching, watching, listening, and reading about
baseball has been part of my every day life sine I was 15 years
old. Even in the dead of winter when baseball is on the back
pages of the newspaper I will find out what new development has
occurred or who has been signed or traded.
I want to write and read about all types of baseball stories
that ...Read the rest of this entry »

Don't look now, but here comes the old reliables' (The Yankees
and The Braves). In New York, after all the talk of Torre and
the coaching staff being on the hot seat, and the team needing
to makes this move or that one (this is an all star lineup
already, right?), it is now becoming a two team race again in
the AL East. It'll come down to the Yankees and the Boston Red
Sox, like it always does. In Atlanta, the Braves limped into the
break, losing their last two vs. Milwaukee. But, help is on ...Read the rest of this entry »

It became official on September 29, 2004 - Major League
Baseball's run in Montreal was coming to an end after 36
seasons. On that day, the announcement was made that the
Montreal Expos were moving to Washington, D.C., beginning with
the 2005 season. This came as no surprise to anyone who follows
baseball, as this inevitable move had been in the making for at
least 10 years. Let's take a look back at the history of
baseball's fall from grace in Montreal. The decline began after
the 1994 season. ...Read the rest of this entry »

As the NBA reaches the midseason point most of the talk is of
the MVP race, with many tabbing Steve Nash as the early
favorite. My question is can a guy who is not even the best
player on his team win the MVP? (Shawn Marion is the best player
on the Suns.) Yes I will concede Nash deserves some credit for
making the players around him even better, and lifting the team
to another level. But where would the Cavs be without Lebron
James, or would the Heat even be a playoff team, let alone the
#1 ...Read the rest of this entry »

The nature of Boston Red Sox tickets has changed in recent years. It used to be that fans would go see the notorious heartbreakers contend on a nearly annual basis, only to stumble in some unbelievable fashion down the stretch. That all changed in 2004, when the Red Sox ended their 86-year championship drought and reclaimed the World Series championship. These days, fans are clamoring for a return to the Fall Classic, and below we'll take a look at how likely such a return is for the 2007 ...Read the rest of this entry »

BOSTON--The Red Sox are World Champions. Yes, it's true. It haD
been 86 years in the making and now the waiting is over. The Red
Sox are champions of the world. And funny thing ... after making
history in a drag-em-out, nail-biting, seat-of-your-pants,
seven-game battle royal with the Yankees, the World Series was a
breeze. In fact, Boston never trailed in its four-game sweep of
the St. Louis Cardinals. The Red Sox scored in the first inning
of every game and, with the exception of Game 1, ...Read the rest of this entry »

The Big East Football Conference is in the midst of experiencing
its biggest changes since its founding in 1991. Gone are
perennial powers Miami, Virginia Tech, and Boston College as
well as league doormat, Temple. New to the conference are
Louisville, Cincinnati, and South Florida. Some are calling the
changes one big folly; while others believe that the conference
will shake off its losses and move forward stronger and wiser.
Three letters have hurt the Big East Conference over the past
few ...Read the rest of this entry »
